What is JQAS?
The John Quincy Adams Society (JQAS) is a national network of student groups focused on U.S. foreign policy, with a centering vision of restraint. Our chapters aim to help college students advance, both intellectually and professionally, while promoting a broader and more strategic conversation about America’s approach to international affairs. We’re nonpartisan and nonpolitical: we work in the world of ideas, not on activism or elections, and we seek to work with every corner of the political spectrum.
What is NDISC?
The Notre Dame International Security Center, directed by Professor Michael Desch, was established in 2008 to provide a forum where leading scholars in national security studies from Notre Dame and elsewhere could come together to explore some of the most pressing issues in national security policy. Over the course of their fellowship year, NDISC's Hans J. Morgenthau fellows discuss their own research in the context of the burgeoning literature on U.S grand strategy, become part of the broader network of junior and senior scholars engaged with these topics, and hone their teaching skills.
